In order to commemorate the bicentenary of the death of Marshal of the Empire Nicolas Davout, the town hall of Auxerre is organizing an exhibition on this child of Yonne which will be held from May 13 to August 27, 2023. The Imperial Art gallery is pleased to contribute once again to the promotion of French History by lending works for this event. Thus, four objects from our collection will be exhibited on this occasion, two miniatures on ivory representing the daughters of the marshal, Joséphine and Adèle Davout by Jean-Baptiste Isabey, a drawing by the same artist of the son of the Marshal Eugène Napoléon Davout, as well as a spectacular plaster of Napoleon I in March Peacemaker from the workshop of Antonio Canova.
