Accounts of the Treasury of the Empire for the year 1809 […] 1810, presented to HM the Emperor and King, by his Minister of the Treasury. In Paris, from the Imprimerie Impériale, 1811.

Two volumes in one flight. large in-4, 142-130 pp. in tabular form; full long-grain red morocco, smooth back decorated with a semi-floral, a crowned eagle and the crowned number “N”, golden friezes and garlands framing the boards, large imperial coat of arms in the centers, guilloche cuts, golden garland on the edge interior, all gilt edges (period binding). Top hinge fragile, slightly rubbed corners.

 

Beautiful copy with the large imperial arms of the general accounts of the Empire for the years 1809 and 1810, with several reminders of the exercises of the first years of the Empire. The state of the central Treasury fund is presented in detail, with state revenues (domains, customs, lotteries, posts, collected duties, salt and powder, coins, etc.), and its expenditure, including general funds of the Treasury (public debts and pensions, Household of the Emperor and civil lists of Princes, and expenses of the various ministries) and special funds.

 

Origins:

Large coat of arms of the Empire with the eagle in a square shield surmounted by a helm, in front of the large mantle, large collar of the Legion of Honor, scepter and hand of justice, all surmounted by a crown with the very particular shape (OHR pl. 2652 n°14, iron used for works of the Civil Code or law manuals, referenced in particular at the National Library; and variants of irons n°16 and 17 for the back).
