Stand Teffaf 2022

TEFAF is an opportunity for Imperial Art, the first gallery dedicated to the Napoleonic epic, to exhibit to the greatest international dealers and to an audience of professionals and enlightened amateurs in order to highlight this very special period that is the Empire through the arts and history. In a stand inspired by the Emperor's campaign tent, Imperial Art presents a selection of works, from the equestrian portrait of King Murat by Baron Gérard to the pair of "eagle-headed" vases from the Sèvres factory. passing by the colossal bust of Napoleon by the workshop of Canova which illustrates the splendor of the Empire and the apogee of the arts of the time.

Imperial Art: Gallery specializing in the Fine Art Empire market


Located in the heart of Paris, since 2016, Imperial Art, an art gallery dedicated to the imperial epic, accompanies collectors and museum institutions in their passion.

Since 2019, the gallery has been located in the prestigious setting of a 19th century private mansion, Place du Général Catroux, in the artistic district of the Plaine-de-Monceau.

Hosted on the ground floor of the Hôtel Viaudey, a building built in 1879, it benefits from an exhibition area of 190 square meters and offers in its three salons restored according to the rules of the art, a selection of paintings and works of art devoted to the French 19th century, and particularly to the neo-classical and romantic era. Its founding president, Tarik Bougherira, is passionate about the history of France and imperial grandeur.

 

The Imperial Art gallery advises museum amateurs and professionals in order to build up and enrich their collection(s) with a wide range of specialties: paintings, drawings, sculptures, furniture, goldsmithery and art porcelain, historical memorabilia, covering the periods of the 18th and 19th centuries, with a predilection for the prosperous period of the Napoleonic era.


The Imperial Art gallery is committed to making known the art and history of the imperial era, a major period in European history that followed the French Revolution and ended in March 1815 on the battlefield of Waterloo. It presents at the same time the great essential figures, in the first place the Emperor Napoleon, the Empress Joséphine and Marie-Louise and the King of Rome as well as the Bonaparte family and the Beauharnais family with Eugène and Hortense, with faithful friendship . The generals, often heroic companions and whose glorious names trace the destiny of brave men, sometimes of modest origins such as Murat and Ney, also found light thanks to the Emperor and their feats of arms made them famous. The Imperial Art gallery pays homage to these great figures of our history but also to shadow characters such as the grognards or the memorialists who participated in the Napoleonic legend in order to perpetuate knowledge and interest in this epic at the same time. complex and exciting. In addition, the gallery presents high quality artists illustrating the artistic currents of neo-classicism and romanticism, such as Baron Gérard, Robert Lefevre, Jean-Baptiste Isabey, Ernest Meissonnier, Théodore Géricault...
